As of April 1st, 2019, Meridian Coin has implemented a new business model for meeting the needs of our clients in the most refined manner possible. Going forward, Meridian Coin will be meeting clients in 2-3 day blocks at a Marriott hotel conference room near our old store 1-2 times per month.
Our first buying trip will be on April 12th-April 13th, 9:00am – 6:00pm on Friday and 10:00am-4:00pm. Clients that call our firm prior to those dates can elect to either just stop by anytime during those posted hours or they can make an appointment time. Clients that call the actual days of the event can just stop by as they please. These buying clinics will be “walk-in”, so an appointment would simply solidify priority over anyone that might walk-in at your appointment time.
Why the New Business Model?
Many of our clients and friends in the community know that over the past year and a half we maintained a small appointment-only office at 22330 Hawthorne Blvd, directly above where our storefront use to be. This office was as much a research and development project as well as a tool to keep offering our expert services to the South Bay community after personally relocating to a new state to live.
Eighteen months later, we have met our goals and learned a great deal about that type of model. We know that a low overhead is key to being able to offer the most money for your coins. We also learned that the appointment only model and the hard-to-find space on the second floor were not ideal. Therefore, operating “walk-in” buying clinics that also offer allow clients the ability to schedule meeting times is our new philosophy. These clinics will also provide a much more flexible environment for us to offer our renowned professional services and meet all the needs of our clients and the community.
Additionally, we are very active buyers of numismatic material. Between our new storefront in Idaho, the national coin show circuit, domestic buying trips and auctions, we are always on the move. These “walk-in” buying clinics will provide a way for Meridian Coin to efficiently offer all of capabilities in a focused manner.

How Else Do I Do Business With Meridian Coin Outside of These Clinics?
We take calls from clients daily about their rare coins and collections. It is our opinion that 90% of our clients will be best served at our monthly clinics. The exceptions to this would be as follows:
- Clients that require increased privacy/logistics due to the scope of their collection or value.
- Clients that have so much material that it is too hard to put it in a car
- Elderly clients that cannot move high volumes of material from their home and need assistance
- Individual’s that want to explore our brokerage services outside of our straight acquisition capabilities at our clinics
- Individuals that have time constraints and need to dispose of material, that meets our parameters, before our scheduled buying clinics
- Anything else we haven’t thought o
For these instances, we frequently meet clients at their homes, offices and at banks. For significant collections or large hoards that fall into the above parameters, we can generally be at your location of choice within 24-48 hours to help you.
